What is Aquaponics?
Aquaponics is everything that hydroponics is, except with fish. Hydroponics is growing plants in water instead of in soil.
Hydroponics is farming done with water instead of soil, it produces no waste (where as traditional farming does) and can be done with less room. Aquaponics means we will add in fish to the water, and create a small almost completely balanced ecosystem in a pond.
Aquaculture is growing organisms in bodies of water under controlled conditions. Common organisms grown are fish, crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic plants.
